Wine.com: Syrah outsells chardonnay

Wine.com , an online wine retailer based in San Francisco, said Tuesday that a first-half 2008 survey of purchases on its site found that Syrah (also called Shiraz) outsold chardonnay for the first time, in terms of both revenue and volume.
